SEABISCUIT
CAST BY ATLAS BRONZE CASTING
UNVEILED AT RIDGEWOOD RANCH JUNE 23, 2007
Produced in association with Iconbronze.com
The Howard Family with the bronze statue of Seabiscuit
After Charles Howard's death, the bronze statue of Seabiscuit which stood at Ridgewood Ranch "Home of Seabiscuit" was donated to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.
Years later, the Seabiscuit Heritage Foundation and Christ's Church of the Golden rule, now owners of Ridgewood Ranch, Began restoring the beautiful ranch and offering tours of Seabiscuit's home to visitors.
Donors to the Seabiscuit Heritage foundation contacted Iconbronze.com regarding the creation of another casting of the beautiful bronze by Tex Wheeler, and Atlas Bronze Casting was given the job.
The master mold makers and foundrymen at Atlas Bronze Casting traveled to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga, New York where they made a mold from the bronze Seabiscuit statue which stands outside the National Racing Museum.
The mold was then taken to Atlas Bronze Casting Foundry in Kearns, Utah where a replica bronze statue of Seabiscuit was cast and finished.
The bronze statue of Seabiscuit then traveled to Willits, California in the back of a fantastic old horse van from Ridgewood Ranch which had been beautifully restored for the occasion.
